Fishing Report

November 1, 2025

I wanted to start this report out by telling those of you that have not heard, my good friend and fellow guide for the last 25 years or so, Capt. George Beckwith of Downeast Guide Service died tragically Monday in a freak accident while clearing trees on his Virginia property.  George was one of the nicest and friendliest people that you would have ever met. He was a good friend and he will be missed by all of the fishing community . There was only one Downeast George.  You are really going to be missed buddy!  The winds have calmed down for the next 3 days, but the albie fishing has been very slow due to dirty water.  I will be heading offshore a few miles today to try and find some cleaner water.  There are plenty of nice bluefish along the beaches and around Cape Lookout shoals.  Hopefully the water will clear up and the albies will return to the beaches.
