07-07-08: The fly fishing is
continuing to do pretty good both in the ocean as well as back in
the marshes. We are still catching redfish back in the marshes on
dark colored Clouser minnows and copperhead flies. Spanish
mackerel are doing well on crystal copperhead flies and chartreuse
and white Clouser minnows. Amberjacks on the near shore
wrecks and reefs are being caught using large baitfish patterns as
well as topwater poppers. |

Fish Finder Charters Capt. Joe Shute
has been a fishing guide for 18 years in the local area of
Cape Lookout, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, and Bogue Sound.
For his near shore fishing (albacore, Spanish mackerel, king
mackerel, and amberjack, etc.) he can easily carry 3 passengers on his
23ft. center console "Parker" .
For his inside charters (red drum especially), Capt. Joe has a new
"17' Mitzi skiff "with
a Suzuki four stroke 50hp. This shallow water skiff will get
back into all the shallow water and grassy areas needed to
successfully fish for schooling and tailing redfish. This skiff is
limited to a maximum of 2 anglers due it's size.
Capt. Joe will
run either 1/2 day, 3/4 day, or full day trips and he does supply everything
except what the client may want to eat or drink. Please call

is United States Coast Guard Licensed and insured.
